How do i become a set designer?
I want to be a set designer (scenic) how do i do that. What do i study, what degree, etc…
I was asked to fill in for a sick guy one day and then given the job. It was not the job i wanted and i never liked it. The only good thing was being backstage with the stars of the show.
Just apply at every theater near you. They never asked for any education or degrees. You just scramble to make up interesting backgrounds and you never have enuf money to do it correctly. The boss always felt that the audience can’t really see the “details” of the set design so he didn’t worry. The set designers had to also be the ones to move the sets between acts..
