Him Eau
Technique involved in Ravel’s Jeux D’eau?

I’ve came across in this piece and I would like to learn it so I went and consulted with my teacher(He learned it before)but he did not exactly tell me about the technique involved. He just said that he felt very comfortable playing it and the only remark he had was that tempo was extremely important.

Can anyone else shed a bit more light on this?I sightread through the first page already and felt that it was under my fingers but I’m still concerned about the different techniques later.

The piece is standard configurations throughout, and as your teacher said, ‘if felt right.’

More pointedly, it fits hands well, is not ‘against’ any pianistic motions you have so far learned.

Tempo is important, as is a clear manner of playing: all of Ravel requires a clean manner of playing, very similar to the clarity of classical period delivery, sans oceans of pedal or rubato.
