Breathe Happiness
religious folks horrified by the idea of being an “animal”…why??

im a former christian and now an athiest…and i know it seems like a dumb question since i already know why most christians disagree with the idea of being evolved from an ape…but whats so wrong with the idea that humans are animals? we eat, drink, sleep, #1, #2, think, breathe, feel happiness, saddness, fear, ect. i agree that man is more intellegent since we have self awareness and can build stuff like the ipod, buildings, stoves, and so on. but i dont understand why people feel SO OFFENDED when people say humans are also animals. is it cuz people need to feel like theyre “higher” then the animals?[even though i TOTALLY disagree that any creature on earth is "higher" then the other] do people need to feel “special”? the whole…”created in gods image” stuff? please explain….just curious not really taking a stand on whos belief is right or wrong.

thnX.

Man wants so desperately to distance themselves from cats, dogs, rats, snakes, leeches, cockroaches, etc that they’ll do anything to do so. Look at how the upper class treats everyone under them and at how the lower-middle-class-yuppies treat everyone who doesn’t drive an SUV or live in a cookie-cutter house in the suburbs. We’re obsessed with “civilization” and its destroying us. Man was not created in God’s image; God was created in man’s image.
